In my Tuesday newsletter this week, there was a call for a chance to win a free High Ed Web Conference registration (not subscribed yet? Subscribe now so you don’t miss another opportunity to win cool stuff)

The conference is sold out, so I got a good number of entries.

What’s funny is that the winner went beyond the usual “count-me-in” email, he gave a top 10 reasons for wanting to go to the #heweb10 conference including a short video spoof of the Old Spice commercial:

10. About to begin a massive WordPress transition. Need guidance and insight.

9. Most likely location for garnering coveted Karaoke FourSquare badge

8. Would like to finally put voices to faces of friends and colleagues-in-spirit on Twitter.

7. Would very much like to sing the theme song to “WKRP” on location.

6. Interested in gaining perspective on best practices for higher education social media.

5. Finally fulfill a career goal of going to a conference. I know, aim high.

4. Bask in the glow of those that truly experienced ‘Hella Dropshadow’

3. Road trip!

2. Represent the fine institution of the University of Florida.

1. Would rather that this video not go to waste.

So, congratulations to Jeff Stevens, webmaster at the University of Florida.

The High Ed Web conference committee should enroll Jeff to do the promotion of the conference next year, don’t you think?
