Websites are a lot like babies
They require months of careful planning and many sleepless nights before the delivery – which only marks the beginning of a frantic period of feeding and caring for the new born.
Websites are a lot like babies, because you can’t help feel pride and joy when you look at them as they sit there quitely (which they don’t a lot ;-) or they are responsive to any media query (fortunately, that one doesn’t apply to babies unless you’re Angelina Jolie. I’m Karine Joly ;-)
I’m talking responsive web design here.
You’ve got… triplets!
I delivered 3 new websites yesterday with the help of a fantastic doctor designer, Stewart Foss from eduStyle and DemandCreativity.
So, I absolutely have to show you my baby pictures screenshots.
But, before I do, I want to invite you to something special this week (tomorrow, Friday and next Tuesday):
- We’re having a
baby showera virtual open house on Friday (Dec 7) for Stewart’s online course on responsive web design for higher ed where he will talk about lessons learned during the planning and delivery of these 3 responsive websites. - Oh, and if you’re more into Web Analytics, Joshua Dodson will tell you tomorrow (Dec 5) what you can do if you only have an hour a week for analytics at the virtual open house for his course on web analytics for higher ed.
- While Mike Powers will talk next Tuesday (Dec 11) about the resolutions you can make now to become a better writer in 2013 during the open house for his course on social media and web writing for higher ed.
