After taking some “time off” to wrap up two big typo3 upgrades, I’m back in full blogging mode.
If your institution is a community college, chances are you’ve already heard about the League for Innovation in the Community College.
[BTW, if it’s not, you might be more interested in my last post about other interesting higher ed conferences in 2007]
I hadn’t before I received an email from Ed Leach about the conference his organization will hold in Nashville, TN from November 11 to 14, 2007.
So, what is this League all about?
As Ed explained in a follow-up email, it “is an international organization dedicated to catalyzing the community college movement. We host conferences and institutes, develop Web resources, conduct research, produce publications, provide services, and lead projects and initiatives with our member colleges, corporate partners, and other agencies in our continuing efforts to make a positive difference for students and communities.”
The 2007 Conference on Information Technology will be the 23rd edition of this annual event, the goal of which is to “explore the intelligent application of information technology in community and technical colleges.”
Out of the 7 planned at the conference, there is a track that will focus on emerging and future educational technology in general, and more specifically on iPods or other mp3 players, mobile phones, PDA’s, etc.
If you work in a community college with “portable high-tech media devices” as the League calls them, you should think about presenting at this conference.
The call for proposals is open until March 23, 2007. You can submit your presentation online after reading a bit more information.
