I’ve just watched this video released yesterday and I want to make sure you see it (hey, it’s Friday!)
it is a very well-done parody from Rebecca Black’s hit song, “Friday,” by a group of senior administrators – including the President – at Oberlin College starring in this video created to honor the graduating seniors at their commencement dinner
The actors in the video include:
- Marvin Krislov, President of Oberlin College
- David Stull ’90, Dean of the Conservatory of Music
- Linda Gates, Dean of Students
- Ben Jones ’96, Vice President for Communications
- Danielle Young, Executive Director of the Alumni Association
So, what do YOU think?
Nicely done, Oberlin. It’s great to see administrators willing to have fun with pop culture. I’m still not a fan of the song, though.
This is hilarious – the students must have loved it. Well done.
I’m an alum. Makes me want to get out my checkbook…
How can this be done without violating copyright and such? I would love to have my university’s administrators do parodies — but isn’t illegal?
I’m guessing this brought the students to their feet at the dinner – do you think they will forget their time at Oberlin anytime soon? I don’t think so! Great job!
Love it! I Wish my university had such a cool administration with such a sense of humor!
