Higher Ed Experts Update: Stats and facts on how admissions offices use social media

I’m glad to introduce the first event of a new series called “30 minutes with a Higher Ed Expert.”

The plan is to try to schedule one of those free online events per month.

As regular readers might know I signed a yearly contract with WebEx for Higher Ed Experts, and I thought it would be a good idea to use the service I’m paying for to its fullest. That’s why I’ve decided to offer a few free events along with the regular webinar series.

The first free event will take place on September 19 at 1PM ET and will be presented by Dr Nora Barnes.

Chancellor Professor of Marketing and Director of the UMASS Center for Marketing Research, Dr. Barnes earned a Ph.D. in Consumer Behavior from the University of Connecticut. She has been selected by her peers at UMass Dartmouth to be the recipient of the prestigious Leo Sullivan Excellence in Teaching Award (1993) and by her undergraduate college as the recipient of their Distinguished Alumni Award (1996).

Dr. Barnes will give a 20-minute presentation on how admissions offices use social media, presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A. With her research associate, Eric Mattson, she has recently conducted a survey of more than 450 institutions.

Registration is free for HEE members (not a member yet? If you work for a university/college, it’s free and easy at www.higheredexperts.com/register), but places are limited.
