Exactly 1 month after the openning of the call for proposals – and a week after its closing, I’m really excited to share with you the program and the speaker line-up of the 1st Higher Ed Social Media Online Conference (#HESM13) to be held on December 4, 2013
Why such a crazy timeline to create the social media conference program?
While it’s never a good idea to let your social media strategy get dictated by the latest announcements from the main social media platforms, things tend to move fast, very fast, when it comes to social media in higher ed.
By reducing the time between the call for proposals (Oct 16) and the day this conference will take place (Dec 4), my goal is to try to offer you the freshest perspectives. So, you and your team can get ready for 2014.
It was a lot of work, but we did it! And, I want to thank all the 25 higher ed professionals who took the time to submit great proposals about the work they do with social media in higher education.
Give us 3 hours and a half, we’ll give you 12 sessions, a Q&A and 2 coffee breaks (not the coffee though :-)!
Your 12 higher ed colleagues selected to present at #HESM13 and I will be working very hard in the next few weeks to make sure their presentations are as short and focused as possible.
All the presenters have agreed to take the time required to make their respective session short (10 minutes) and to-the-point, so YOU can get the benefits of their expertise and experience without spending 12 hours in front of a computer screen to harvest the golden nuggets :-).
So, where is the higher ed social media conference program?
Get ready for the ultimate online conference on higher ed social media with sessions covering new takes on strategy, social media governance, content curation, crisis communication, gamification, program recruitment tactics, visuals optimization techniques for Facebook & Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn University Pages, Google+, reporting and social media analytics.
You can check out the program on the conference page where you can also read the full descriptions of the sessions, meet the speakers and… secure your virtual seat for this unique event.
