Time to Get Strategic With Content in #highered

November 30th, 2011 Karine Joly 2 Comments

My latest University Business column is now available in the November/December issue as well as online: “Time to Get Strategic With Content”

In this column, I explain why content strategy is worth the time and how to get started.

I also share a few examples of content strategy in action in universities and colleges – including the comprehensive multi-channel content strategy currently in process at Indiana University of Pennsylvannia. If you want to learn about this specific example, you can read the interview I did with Michael Powers about this initiative. You should also know that Mike will present a full session on content strategy next week as part of the 3-webinar Web Writing Bootcamp (there are a few seats left if you’re interested).

Thank you for sharing your article, Karine– it made me want to stand up from my computer and start clapping! I have been trying to explain why content needs to be thought of strategically in my department and this article provides the reasons why and how to be successful.

Very helpful in my work and I am sure to share it with my colleagues in the hopes it drums up their support of the same. Cheers :)

Glad you find the article useful. That’s the goal of these longer (and nicely printable) pieces – to help you guys make a point and support change in your institutions :-)
