Office Hours at Juniper College: The Office, higher ed style?

Do you remember lonelygirl15 and the web series that made YouTube history as many viewers (including yours truly) wondered if she was just another teenager turned successful YouTuber?

Office Hours, a new web series created and produced at Junita Juniata College, is reminiscent of this YouTube blockbuster. Nothing surprising since lonelygirl15 was listed as one of the web series that inspired Nathan Wagoner, Director of New Media Communications at Junita JuniataCollege, for this side project he developed with the help of students and alums from Junita Juniata.

The goal of this series is NOT to promote the institution. It actually takes place at Juniper College, a hypothetical liberal arts college and depicts the adventures and whereabouts of a newly appointed adjunct, Jenny Clancy, as she discovers the wonderful world of academia.

I’m not sure all faculty members will love it (as it might hit a bit too close to home for comfort), but you should enjoy watching it, so why not give it a try?

Four episodes are already available. They are pretty short and very well-produced. And, who knows? You might get inspired for your next campus video production.

If you want to learn more about the project, you can read more about it on the Office Hours website.

If you watch the episodes, let us know what you think by posting a comment below.

And, if you’re interested in improving the quality of your own campus productions (videos, live streaming events and event photos), you should consider registering for our upcoming series on professional photos, videos and live streaming.

Professional Photos, Videos and Live Streaming 101Scheduled in January, it will help you improve quality with practical tips from professionals. You can find out more about this series at www.higheredexperts.com/likeapro

Hi! I think it’s great that you’re posting this! but it’s Juniata College, not Junita!

  3. It’s Juniata…not Junita

  4. Thanks person, Kelsey and hunh for catching the typo – I’ve fixed it now.

  5. you still missed one :( at the very beginning of that same paragraph with the other two typos.

we get misspellings and mispronunciations of our school’s name aaaaaaaall the tiiiiiiiime (even Harry Smith and the editor of Budget Travel got it wrong on the Early Show back in April 09 http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4946513n&tag=related;photovideo, go to 1:36; Juniata made a response video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSEiwNyipe0) so, you were A LOT closer than most.

  6. I’m really sorry – now it should be typo-free.
    Cool video :-)
