Karine writes about higher ed podcasting in print – and online – at University Business

I’ve crossed over to print — well, technically it’s more a come-back as I started my professional life writing for traditional media (newspapers, magazines and even radio).

Last Fall, Tim Goral, the Editor of University Business and a reader of collegewebeditor.com, sent an email to your favorite blogger and made an offer I could not refuse: to take over his magazine’s column about Internet Technologies.

I guess most of this blog’s regulars read or scan University Business – hey, it’s even available for free online! In the improbable case, you haven’t heard about this publication yet, here’s a brief presentation from its website:

“University Business is a publication for presidents and other senior officers at two- and four-year colleges and universities throughout the United States. University Business is circulated to 42,000 leaders who manage enrollment, technology, academic affairs and legislation. The magazine covers current and emerging trends in all areas of university and college management.”

But, let’s go back to the column: six articles are scheduled in 2006 as the column will be published every other month.

The first one is available in the February issue (you should be able to find a copy somewhere on campus if you’re not subscribed yourself) as well as online: “The Power of Podcasts.”

And, if you are a University Business reader who has just discovered collegewebeditor.com, let me welcome you first. Then, don’t forget to subscribe to this blog via RSS (use one of the buttons available at the top of the right column) or via email (the subscription form is placed just below the RSS buttons in the right column as well)

In the next few days, I’ll be posting the full versions of the interviews I made to prepare my column about podcasting. So, if you’ve liked the column, you’ll probably find these interesting and useful.

Last, if you have any questions or feedback about the blog or the column, feel free to email me at karine@collegewebeditor.com

  1. Congratulations Karine!

I’ll look forward to highlighting your articles and passing them around the office. Some people put more credibility into print publications than blogs. This is a great opportunity, and I’m glad you jumped at it!

  2. Congrats Karinne! I love reading your blog; it’s one of the few that I do read, but it’s fun, exciting, informational and great writing! I’ll check out your new column and hope to see you at our July ’06 eduWeb Conference in Baltimore!

Thanks Bob, Shelley and Dan! I’m very lucky to have the best people in the higher ed world as readers.
