IPods, Podcasting and Duke, Part 2: Podcasting Symposium on September 27-28, 2005
September 19th, 2005 by Karine Joly
Duke University does it again.
After its well-covered iPod First-Year Experiment last year, Duke keeps playing its cards very nicely at the ever popular Podcasting table by organizing, this month, a conference about the topic.
“On Sept. 27-28, Duke University’s Information Science + Information Studies (ISIS) program is holding what organizers believe to be the first-ever academic podcasting symposium,” touts Duke’s press release before adding that, “the symposium brings together scholars, journalists and podcasting practitioners to discuss how this new technology is shaping — and being shaped by — business, law, journalism and Internet culture.”
Although its online version isn’t very detailed, the symposium’s program looks pretty interesting.
According to the press release, registration is already close for this free event open to the public, but all the session podcasts should be available on the Web at http://isis.duke.edu/events/podcasting/casts.html, which is the corrected web address James Todd provided in his comment below.
