Up close and personal with… the Dean

Have you ever wanted to get into the Dean’s head?

What if you could understand what makes Deans tick, what’s on their minds and how life is in the big office?

It’s always useful to know who your website stakeholders really are, isn’t it? Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to higher education.

Unfortunately, you probably don’t have lunch with Deans everyday, and there’s a chance you may not even be on a first-name basis with them. So, how do you get to know your Dean(s)?

Since real-life stalking isn’t an option, online research is probably the way to go and blogs are your best friends.

Your Dean is not the blogging type? No problem.

A Dean is a Dean is a Dean. And, you can learn a lot about the admin kind by reading Confessions of a Community College Dean, a well-written and engaging blog that tells the real story in the big office from relations with faculty to struggles with budget lines (or is it the other around?).

I found a link to this blog on Inside Higher Ed last week, and it’s definitely worth adding to your RSS reader.
Did I say I like this blog? ;-)
